At FSA, Chris and Scott had the course ready to go when the rain started about 7:00 a.m.  Weather radar indicated that the storm would pass, but ever-so-slowly.  Drivers started arriving at 8:00 a.m. and everyone decided to wait it out.  The track finally dried by about 10:00 and the event was underway in earnest by 11:00.  As usual, Scott’s teal ‘Stang was at the top of the leader board with Jerod at the wheel.  Scott took second.  Randy Roberts took third place overall with his Firebird—also shod with slicks.  Nels Jensen in his super-fast Corolla took fourth.  Tom Hensley brought out his beautiful Mitsubishi Evo and easily took 6th overall.  Newcomer Tim Steiner debuted his ragtop Geo Metro (that had something other than a Geo engine under the hood).  After he works out some of those funny noises in the front end, that car will be a contender!.  Shane Beesley did well with his Dodge Colt Turbo.  Jackie Bell debuted her “new” Mitsubishi Eclipse.  It didn’t sound as good as her Grand Torino, but it showed real promise.  Civic drivers Brandon Rowlett and Ryan Elliot apparently scared a long line of Subaru drivers from entering the event.  However, the “Subies” will hopefully be back for the next event.  Delayed start and all, it was a good day.
